Welcome to Holland Lodge # 1. Holland Lodge is the oldest lodge in Texas, actually beginning its existence prior to the creation of the independent nation of Texas. In March 1835, several brothers met in Brazoria to petition the Grand Lodge of Louisiana for membership. For a more in-depth explanation browse our website, where you can find inquisitive facts and information about our history. Our members are proud of our rich heritage and are proud to be called Masons. Sam Houston, Anson Jones, James Fannin, and many other accomplished men were and are members of Holland Lodge.
If you are interested in Freemasonry and desire information about it, you are cordially invited to join us whenever we are open as our guest for dinner. This will give you time to tour the building, meet the Brethren and to ask questions. If you decide that you wish to join, you must ask a Mason to become one. The Mason that you approach will then direct you to the secretary to receive a petition, formally starting your application process, and hopefully launching you on a fantastic life journey. We welcome men of all faiths and backgrounds as our common desire is to “Make good men better”. Masonry teaches many moral lessons through allegory that one internalizes as one learns the esoteric (secret) part of the work.
Holland Lodge is proud of its members and is proud to receive visiting Brethren from around the world. If you are a visiting brother, I hope you can join us at any time we are scheduled to be open. We would love to have your company and we extend fraternal greetings to you and to your parent lodge.
